Welcome:

Welcome to my guide on customising your TomTom voice files.  Here you will find step by step information on how to create your very own voice files, just think how much better it would be to have personalised voices on your TomTom!

I have been interested in making your own voices for TomTom for a few years now.  My first voice was used with the aid of really REALLY poor scraps of information that I found scattered all over the web, typically on GPS forums.  After completing my first voice profile I immediately began on a mission to create the ultimate guide, using all aspects of my technical experience to put together the quickest and most effective way of creating your own voice.

Since creating this guide, I began another project making a program in VB which will make the final step much easier, specifically for those NOT use to command prompts, switches and all that bolony!  win:viftool2 is a program created entirely by me, which does exactly that!

Simply put this guide offers by far the internets most easiest and effective way for your everyday Joe to get his wife, son, daughter or even perhaps their mother-in-law telling them how to get from A to B using TomTom satellite navigation software!

If you have any more ideas, comments etc that you wish to share, please get in touch!!

My Examples:

Here is a couple of voice profiles I created using nothing more than the information found on this guide,

My voice profile! download (1622kb)
Clare (my better half's) voice profile! download (825kb)

Good luck, and remember if you've experiencing any problems, send me an email and I will try my best to help!
